The Survivalist Perk is one of the four possible perks you can choose at the beginning of the game. It causes the Thirst and Hunger bars to deplete at a much slower rate than usual.
Since Apocalypse Rising focuses on combat, it is not recommended that you take this perk, as it doesn't give you an advantage in combat. However, as it reduces the amount of food you'll need, this perk may help you save some backpack space for things like blood bags or ammo, making it good if you don't have a base or a vehicle, or if you're not playing in a large group.
