- "Semi-automatic American handgun."
- — In-game description
The Hi-Power is a Military pistol in Apocalypse Rising 2.
Information
The Hi-Power is a semi-automatic 9mm Belgian-American handgun. It is similar to the earlier M1911, also made by John M. Browning. The Hi-Power, unlike the M1911, is chambered in 9mm Parabellum instead of the .45 ACP and feeds from double stacked magazines. The Hi-Power gets its name from the fact that its cartridge was considered a strong self-loading handgun cartridge in its time; compared to other common pistol cartridges such as .380 Auto and .32 ACP, 9mm Parabellum was considered large.
Gameplay
The Hi-Power is the strongest 9mm pistol in terms of stats, with the exception of having a slightly smaller magazine than the M9. It can reliably kill an opponent with four to five shots, it accepts most attachments, and feeds from a common ammunition type.
Pros
- High rate of fire.
- Highest damage of any 9mm secondary weapon.
- Common ammo type.
- High magazine capacity.
Cons
- Both the weapon and its magazines are somewhat rare.
- Blocky rear sights make the Hi-Power difficult to aim at long distances, especially at night.
Obtainment
The Hi-Power can be found in military shipping crates, military weapon crates, in military vehicles, and in black equipment boxes.
Trivia
- The Hi-Power was made by the same company, Fabrique Nationale, which manufactured the SCAR-L, MK.17, MK.48, and M249, as seen in Apocalypse Rising 1 and the same designer; John Moses Browning, who made the M1918A2 BAR, M1911, Auto-5, and M1919A6 in Apocalypse Rising 2.
